Our Story

Welcome to The Brick as it’s affectionately known by the locals.

This public house has stood on this site since the mid 19th century. The ‘modern’ existing building has stood since 1924 after being rebuilt, it was a Young's & Company pub during the Second World War. Damaged no less than six times by bombs during that period and has had many repairs to it as a consequence, hence you can see the red brick at the front of the building being a different shade to the older building.

The pub has many features of architectural importance.

Since 2011 and The Brick has been an independent free house offering a great selection of real ales, draft beers, ciders (both bottle and draught), as well as stouts and a good selection of wines and spirits to whet every appetite.

"The ale quality was good, the price of a pint was very keen and the bar staff were friendly. A genuine pub that I would visit again and I live 400 miles away."
