The Bricklayers

Updated 2011

The pub became a Freehouse in 2011 formerly a Young & Co. pub.
The new owners spent over £80,000 on refurbishment, re-designing the garden and decorating to get it up to scratch.
The new owners have been using the pub since the 1960s, so they probably spent just as much again behind the bar!
What we have now is an excellent pub, with modern facilities, traditional values and exceptional customers.

About

The "Brick"

This public house has stood on this site since the mid 19th century. The ‘modern’ existing building has stood since 1924 after being rebuilt, it was a Young's & Company pub during the Second World War. Damaged no less than six times by bombs during that period and has had many repairs to it as a consequence, hence you can see the red brick at the front of the building being a different shade to the older building.
